Drop Off

A two minute drop off and pick up zone is located outside the Departures section of the Terminal. Drivers are not permitted to leave their vehicles. Vehicles parked in loading zones for more than two minutes will be moved on or be subject to fines under Gladstone Regional Council Local Law No.5 (Parking) 2011 - Subordinate Local Law No.5 (parking) 2011.

Airline Check-In

Gladstone Airport recommends passengers arrive at least one hour before their scheduled flight departure time to allow sufficient time for security screening and check-in.

Before arriving at the airport, it is important that passengers take note of their airline’s specific baggage guidelines and restrictions. If in doubt please liaise with your airline.

Common User Self Service (CUSS)

CUSS Check in kiosks, located in the check-in area are currently available for Qantas customers. It is anticipated that Virgin will also operate CUSS kiosks in the near future.

Baggage Allowances

Please refer to the relevant airline website to confirm how much you can take and what goods can be packed.

Qantas

Find out your checked and carry-on baggage allowances according to your itinerary. If you already have a booking, you can find out your allowance at Manage Your Booking or through your travel agent. If you are about to make a booking, your baggage allowance will be available on the review page before payment. Note that different baggage allowances may apply each time you check in your baggage. If you check in your baggage for a multiple sector journey, the baggage policy of the most significant carrier in your itinerary will apply.

Virgin Australia

Passengers travelling on Virgin Australia’s domestic network are allocated a checked baggage allowance. The baggage allowance for adults and children is detailed on Virgin Australia’s website. Please refer to above link.

Unattended Baggage

It is an offence to leave baggage unattended in public areas at the airport. All such baggage will be treated as suspicious and may be disposed. All baggage should be clearly tagged with your contact details.

Carriage of Firearms

Weapons of any kind are not permitted to be carried on you or in your carry-on bag and onto an aircraft. Weapons include but are not limited to firearms, parts of firearms including ammunition, replica firearms, and martial arts equipment. If you are not sure whether an item is a weapon or not, check with your airline or leave it at home. Bomb Hoax / Threats regarding Aviation security

It is an offence for Passengers, while at a security controlled airport or on board an aircraft to engage in conduct that a reasonable person could interpret as a threat to commit an act of unlawful interference with aviation, this includes making jokes about bombs in baggage or leaving articles of baggage unattended.
