Mandatory Wearing of Face Masks at Gladstone Airport
On the 8 January 2021, the National Cabinet agreed that face masks would become mandatory. Then on Tuesday the 12th January 2021, at 12:01am, the Queensland Government legislated through the Queensland Public Health Act 2005, that it was mandatory for people to wear face masks at all Queensland airports.
It is important for all visitors, workers and passengers to wear their face masks when at the airport, to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 within our community.
Passengers, visitors and employees at Gladstone Airport will be breaking the law, should they fail to wear a mask. If someone refuses a police direction to wear a mask, police officers can issue an on-the-spot fine of $1,334, an infringement notice, or a notice to appear in court.
Please help Gladstone Airport Corporation, the Gladstone Community and Region, in protecting each other from this pandemic, by adhering to this law.
